Everyone has moments that tug on their heart strings, and one of mine was hearing of the horrific situation that had been discovered at Spindles Farm, Amersham in 2008. This farm was only a few miles away from where I used to keep my horse (Popsie), but it could not have been more different. Redwings Horse Sanctuary, along with the RSPCA and World Horse Welfare, rescued over 125 horses, ponies and donkeys from the site. Many others had died on the site, and multiple others had to be put down.
The horses that were rescued, and the foals that were born when they arrived, are doing amazingly well at Redwings Horse Santuary. In addtion to those rescued from Amersham, Redwings Horse Santuary provides a home to more than 1300 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules that have been rescued from neglect and near certain death. Let's help them to look after them, care for their veterinary needs and give them a safe and secure home for the rest of their days.
Redwings is 100 % funded by public funding, and we can make a HUGE difference. Here are a few ideas of what your money could buy:
£25 could pay for the vet to treat a new arrival to the Sanctuary
£40 could buy a new rug for a chilly horse or pony
£50 could buy enough hay to feed 8 horses for a week
Did you know that a female donkey is called a 'Jenny'?!
Don't forget to GIFTAID your donation! Thank you.
