Just finished! 2 hrs 8 mins,  so very happy as the conditions were dreadful. Even seasoned triathletes weren't enjoying the conditions, especially as we were into the wind at end of both cycle and run! Strong and gusty winds throughout the course, why is it when it is windy you always seem to be going into the wind! 

Huge thanks also to my friend Carole who has trained and competed with me. We even managed the odd chat on the way around. We have kept each other motivated throughout the training. She is also supporting PSC charity fundraising. 

I have been recently diagnosed with a liver condition called Primary sclerosing chlolangitis. PSC is an uncommon chronic liver disease in which the bile ducts inside and outside the liver progressively decrease in size due to inflammation and scarring. The charity, PSC Support, helps people affected by PSC and is run by volunteers. They provide support and help with understanding the illness. They also help raise awareness of PSC and organ donation and raise funding for research. At the moment there is no cure or treatment for PSC and all money will go help research.

As you may already know, I enjoy keeping fit and healthy but at times have felt too tired to maintain this. I am now determined to train to put the three disciplines of swimming, cycling and running together in one event. I can easily complete each of the three alone, the challenge will be to complete all three one after the other! Training has begun in the pool and on the road, the bike. Swimming is my weakest part but even my son now realises how odd the legs feel after getting off the bike and attempting to run when he went for a cycle then ran just one mile!
