Story
Our mom, Jill Elsie Godridge passed away suddenly whilst at home on Tuesday 14th September 2010.
Please take a couple of minutesto read our other Just Giving page that is also dedicated to and in memory of mom.
Our mom had suffered for some time with scoliosis and whilst we do not think that it directly contributed to her passing away, we know that at times she would be in great pain with the condition.
Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine and although many people have not heard of the condition it is suprisingly common. Scoliosis is not a disease, it just means that an otherwise healthy person have a curved or twisted spine. It is not contagious or infectious.
The causes of Scoliosis are many and although the consequences of the condition are understood, the origins remain complex and obscure.
The British Scoliosis Research Foundation's vision is to have, within ten years, contributed to discovering the cause of Scoliosis and to have improved the quality of life for people with all types of the condition.
