Story

It was raining this morning as I set off at 7:40am from home and this was soon followed by the discovery that the local station was closed today with no trains running and a replacement bus service. Unfazed by these early setbacks, I arrived at the start of the half marathon in good time and in good running weather (it had stopped raining and was now overcast and so not too hot). Whilst the early inclement weather had kept away some of the expected crowds, there was still very good support along the route. I completed the 13.1 miles in 1:54:45 (official "chip" time). Admittedly this is a little slower than the 1:39:02 of two years ago but I was still pleased.
