Story

Hi . . . .

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I hope to achieve one of my ambitions . . . Completing the London Marathon 2012

I am running as part of The Gallery Fitness Club team that are raising funds for the Brain & Spine Foundation.

This charity is close to my heart because of the work the Foundation do in respect of Motor Neurone Disease.

In 2002 my late husband was diagnosed with the disease and for 7 years with pride and dignity fought the disease with utter determination. This was a normal healthy family man who for a reason we will never know was suffering from a terminal illness.

For me to stay focussed and in control of my family I started running more to stay fit and strong. Caring for someone, being a mum and working is a fitness test in itself. I said one day that I would run the London Marathon...... I think at that point I was only running 3 miles at a time.

In 2009 he passed away. I now have the chance to raise some money into research of this awful disease. What I did learn is that there is so little known about MND and other such diseases.
