A friend recently told me about this hardy women event she was thinking of doing, so I looked into it and before I knew it I had entered!!

There are 25 women taking part. The event involves being collected from the mainland on Friday 11th September and taken by boat to Brownsea Island until Sunday 13th September. Once on Brownsea we each carry our own very basic kit (ie sleeping bag, warm clothes, insect repellant, loo roll and hopefully we'll need sun cream!). We are lead to a secluded part of the island where we build our camp using materials from the surrounding area to make our beds for the following two nights!

We are not allowed to take any food with us and can only eat, what we can find?!

The aim of the week end is to learn how to survive in the wild without any modern gadgets, or gizmos, And most importantly to raise money for THE DORSET WILDLIFE TRUST which is a very worthy charity and every penny helps.
