Arms Around The Child (AATC) is committed to transforming the lives of children who have faced extreme adversity, including orphans, abandoned children, and those rescued from abuse or trafficking. Operating in Ghana, South Africa, and India, we provide safe homes where children can heal and regain hope. Our support extends beyond shelter, recently expanding with the opening of a school to offer education and essential life skills. This initiative empowers children to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future, focusing on their long-term well-being and growth.

Story

Updated on Apr 23rd 2012 at 11:14 AM from the JustGiving API

Just to say a huge thanks to everyone who sponsored me, and to anyone else who is about to (still taking donations of course!). You're all brilliant! Got round in 4:38 yesterday - I was going well until I picked up an injury to my knee ligaments about 1/3 of the way round. After that things got painful and slow, so I certainly couldn't have done it without being inspired by all of the sponsorship/support I'd received in the run-up to this. Thank you so much.

***

Hola amigos! Buenos días chicas and chicos!

I'm running the Madrid Marathon on April 22nd - please sponsor me!

Any amount that you can give will be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for your help in raising as much money as possible for the wonderful Arms Around the Child charity. It's the same organisation that I've raised money for before (Keep a Child Alive), only they've gone and had a rebrand. All donations will go straight to AAC and help them to provide lifesaving AIDS drugs and support for survival for children and families across Africa and India.

AAC also buys more than just the pills needed to fight HIV/AIDS. It buys the essential nutrition, shelter, support and education to help ensure those pills are taken properly and effectively. For more info, visit: http://www.armsaroundthechild.org/

So please, donate whatever you can and remember to add Gift Aid.

All that's left to say is that if anyone fancies coming out for a jaunt to Madrid that weekend, I'd love the support - let me know, I'm promising a good party after.

Jack x

(Below is a bit about how easy it is to donate with Just Giving, how your information is safe, and Gift Aid)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
