Earlier this year I left home early one morning heading off to my annual work conference, saying bye to my son Johnnie, dressed in his finest Buzz Lightyear outfit. Later that day I sat through one of the most emotional talks from a parent supporting this charity; before losing her son, Magic moments fulfilled his dream to visit Disneyland and meet Buzz, his hero. 

I think I'm safe to say it is any parents worst nightmare the prospect of losing a child, with Johnnie having been born 8 weeks premature and not breathing for what felt like a lifetime we were fortunate that he pulled through without any long term damage. 

I sat there listening to her speech and it hit home thinking of what could of happened whilst picturing him earlier that day wearing the same outfit... if she can stand in front of over 1,000 strangers and talk about her hardest challenge and loss then anything is possible. Later that day I signed up to this event and in the weeks that followed quit smoking after 20 years and started focusing on my health, diet and exercise for the first ever time in my life.

Please support this amazing cause as not all parents are as lucky as I have been. I will be putting myself through misery, sweat and pain much to your amusement and all in the aid of an amazing cause. Magic Moments sends less fortunate families with children with life limiting illnesses for a final family holiday to Disneyland Paris.
