Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running both the London and Edinburgh Marathon's in 2018 to raise money for the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.
London - 22nd April 2018
Edinburgh - 27th May 2018
My girlfriend Bronte fell off a horse while at a riding lesson on Valentines Day this year (typical) and was subsequently flown to The Royal London Hospital via Essex & Herts Air Ambulance with suspected spinal and pelvic injuries.
Three frantic hours ensued trying to get to the hospital. From being outside of the hospital and not being able to park, to then driving away from the hospital to Stratford to get the tube back in to Whitechapel and eventually find her waiting in resus was as stressful as you can imagine.
Thankfully, after a long day, Bronte was cleared of any major injuries and for the next week she rested up at home with bruising.
We are all so grateful for the service she received by the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance crew (not forgetting the staff at The Royal London Hospital and the crew on the ground with the East of England Ambulance Service) that we want to give something back.
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance provide a first-class pre-hospital medical service to the people of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. The Charity rely's mostly on public donations and very limited Government support. It costs over £2000 to fly one mission so every penny raised counts.
My aim is to raise around £1000 but hopefully I can get closer to the £2000 mark over the next six to seven months (it's a big ask I know).
We are so lucky to have this essential lifesaving service and amazing people available to us in times of need. I would really appreciate your support.
Jack
