Stratford Triathlon 2018 · 29 April 2018 ·

Inspired by the lives of Dr Dominic Beer and Joseph Harris we fund raise to support community projects, raise awareness and facilitate research in order to promote improved mental health in two groups of people: adults suffering from Severe and Enduring Mental Illness and young adults

Story

In November last year, Joe Harris, was tragically killed in a car accident whilst doing charity work in South Africa.

Joe was one of my best friends throughout school, and he never failed to put a smile on your face or brighten up your day. So many of my best childhood memories are centred around this amazing guy. Not only was he a smart, funny and kind man, but also an exceptional sportsman. He represented GB at triathlon and I can imagine how hard he'd laugh at me trying to attempt one.

Joe was also a trustee to The Dominic Beer Memorial Charity, which looks at funding ways to help those with mental health problems.

In memory of Joe, and to help support a charity so close to his heart, I will take part in Stratford's (shortish) Triathlon 2018.
