The charity raises funds to buy cancer-related equipment for local hospitals. Since 1972 it has raised in excess of £4m to build and equip St John's Hospice (now run independently) and over £8m for equipment for the local NHS trusts. DCDT is run entirely by volunteers - there are no paid staff.

Story

As my family and friends know, my husband Steve is suffering with prostate cancer and has been since his 2012 diagnosis.

He has to have checks every 6 months which involves taking 10 biopsies from the prostate, this procedure is a very intrusive one and not very nice at all. Steve's latest MRI scans show that things have changed and he may need an operation.

Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust is trying to raise £150,000 to buy a new biopsy machine, equipment and expertise that which will improve diagnosis and treatment, making it quicker, more accurate and less invasive for patients.

So helping to raise money towards their goal will help to detect things earlier and help give prostate cancer the boot!

Please donate what you can, as every little will help.
