<p><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Jackie </strong>(mid radiotherapy, October half term 2011): "Debs, do you fancy joining me on a bike ride to rasie money for Breast Cancer Care?"</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Debs</strong> " Yes I'll do it with you; where do you want to go?"</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Jackie</strong> " From London to Paris in June..."</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Debs</strong> "Fab." (Jackie jumps around the room in glee). "How many miles is it?" (what subject does she teach??!)</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Jackie </strong>" It's about 100 miles each day but ONLY 57 on the last day"</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Debs</strong> (with very little cycling experience and NO concept of what this distance means or what saddle sores may be created) " Oh, Ok."</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Jackie </strong>" It's 317 miles over 4 days but i think it's quite flat once we are over the channel."</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff00ff;">And before they knew it they had got permission from the headmnaster, paid their depositis and were discussing the ins and outs or vaseline, sudacream and padded underwear.</span></p>
