Story

The last (and only) time I ran a half marathon, I headed out with my late pal Jarris for what I had planned on being 10k, joining him on a short stint of his marathon training. I learnt all sorts about him that day, and the chats we had kept me entertained enough to (foolishly) agree to join him for a further 10k. I hate running. He made it fun. A few weeks after that I was supporting him as he crossed the finish of the full marathon at this very event. He's not here to run this one, and nor is he here to egg me on to run twice the distance I set out to to run (I'll save that for another year), but I'm looking forward to running in his name.

The Beer-Harris Memorial Trust was, alongside running, another of Joe's passions. They continue to do great work in his name by supporting extremely important research and community projects to help those suffering from mental health problems. Please support this great cause in memory of a great man, my mate Jarris.

About the charity

Inspired by the lives of Dr Dominic Beer and Joseph Harris we fund raise to support community projects, raise awareness and facilitate research in order to promote improved mental health in two groups of people: adults suffering from Severe and Enduring Mental Illness and young adults
