Jackson's CS Balkans Trek for St Giles Trust

CS Balkans Trek for St Giles Trust · 27 July 2019
This is a serious challenge - we will be summiting the highest mountains in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Montenegro. This will involve a week of tough hiking at altitude with steep ascents/descents, 9 hours a day hiking and wild camping. This will be a huge mental and physical challenge of endurance and stamina.
Whilst mountains have always been a passion of mine, it's been over a decade since my last big trip. The training has started but I'm coming back from an injury, so it's going to be a steep climb (pun intended) to get ready.
The aim of putting myself through this suffering is to raise funds and awareness for St Giles Trust; a charity who aim to empower young people to stay safe, and make positive choices for their futures. 50,000 children in the UK are exploited by gangs every year, and St Giles Trust do fantastic work to educate children on the dangers of gangs, exploitation, and knife crime. Nobody is exempt from the dangers of knife crime and street violence, no matter what city or area you live in. £8.34 can be saved to every £1 invested in peer-led services like St Giles Trust, so please donate generously!
