Thankyou for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 4th to the 7th of June 2015 fourteen 12-13 boys and girls (including myself) will be walking across the most challenging and dramatic of the Snowden range of mountains during the course of three days. We will ascend 8 mountains all over 3000 feet and will walk roughly about 30miles (49km) in total. We will all carry heavy rucksacks with all our provisions for the three days together with our tents; to this extent the expedition is completely unsupported with three nights spent camping. It will be a hefty challenge for us all (as proven by the training walk) but we have all prepared well but the inspiration of raising as much money for JDRF is enough for us all.
Twelve Fathers and one mother will be joining the expedition which Headmaster Robert Lankester will be leading. they will also find this a challenge and are also looking for sponsership towards JDRF.
About JDRF.
JDRF is a global organization working towards a cure for type 1 diabetes. It is committed to funding the research that will lead to the cure of type 1. Along the way they are helping to develop better treatments to improve the lives of people who already have the condition. Research into the cure is interlinked with work on prevention and treatment. to find out more about the many specific UK based research projects currently funded by JDRF please look on their website www.jdrf.org.uk.
For most of you -Friends/Family- I will have spoken to you in person about the cause and the Walk if you still require more information on anything or if you would prefer to pay in cash or cheque then please either email me at Jacksonverbier1@gmail.com or Jhead@maidwellhall.co.uk.
