From the 17th of April to the 24th of April 2011, Jacqui and Chris Newell will be embarking on a challenge with a real difference. We are self-funding our own team of spirited huskies to drive across the Arctic. We will spend six days in snow tents, sledding through the rolling highlands and deep forests of Lapland in temperatures that can reach up to -30 degrees Celsius. Our challenge is to sled 250km from Norway, through untouched nature, in order to finish at Jukkasjarvi in Sweden.

This Global Adventure Challenge is to help raise funds for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Wexham Park Hospital. The Unit provides expert, around-the-clock care for newborn babies who are extremely ill or born prematurely.

We have set up this Just Giving Page for the Wexham and Heatherwood Hospital, which will ensure every penny will go directly to SCBU. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to donate. The Special Care Baby Unit gets your money faster and if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement are added to your donation.

This is a real chance to give something back and our way of saying thank you. We hope that the money raised can help buy vital equipment, which may save another baby's life.

We ask if you could donate whatever small, loose change you have to help save lives of these babies who are brought into this world with the biggest challenge of their lives, and that is just to survive!

 Thank you so much!

Chris and Jacqui Newell xx
