Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Although I am not officially climbing Kilimanjaro for Charity it's just something I wanted to do. HOWEVER .... everyone keeps asking if I am doing it for charity and Daisy Chain which is a local charity has let me join in their training as they are also climbing Kilimanjaro but they are doing it for charity so I thought if anyone did want to sponsor me then it seems appropriate that this charity benefits, especially as they were kind enough to help me with my training. Daisy Chain was established to address the needs of both children with autism and their families. This is a local charity, they provide a range of services and activities from their 5.5 acre farm in Stockton where they are based.
Update 19 January 2010 - Just got back yesterday from Kilimanjaro climb. It was the most challenging thing I have ever done in my life.. I climbed going via the Lemosho Route. The weather was not great and I suffered from terrible altitude problems (including severe headaches, feeling like every breath was my last and constant nose bleeds -- I think this should make you want to give more money!!) but did get to Uhura Peak, the top of Africa at 5895 meters above sea level) The whole walk took 8 days to complete.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks
Jac
