Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page again.

As you know my cycle ride was in memory of my friend Diana who died last year of bowel cancer. I originally intended to cycle on Sunday 19th July but as the forecast was better for Saturday I actually cycled on the 18th. So as not to cycle head on into the wind all the way I changed the ride to go from Breskens, in the south, to the Hoek.

It was wet and windy when I started out but soon the sun shone. However it continued to be windy and at times it was a challenge to stay on the cycle way particularly going over the Oosterschelededam and the Brouwersdam! I collected quite a bit of sand in my clothes at one point. It was a great day with all sorts of festivals going on in the various villages I passed through.

My thanks to Mark for being my support team. Thank goodness there was the Ashes test for him to listen to!
