My story
I can hardly bear it that I have had to defer my place because of injury.
Thanks to all of you who have donated to Advance. It was with a heavy heart and puffy eyes that I completed the form to defer my marathon place until next year.
I got up to 20 miles in my training runs and felt on top of the world but my knees just did not agree. I was incredibly lucky to see the very best sports medicine people in the country but there is just not enough time for me to sort out my knees and be ready to complete 26 miles. I tried this morning but the pain bit before I'd even ran a mile and I knew it was over.

ADVANCE supports women and children suffering DOMESTIC VIOLENCE in Hammersmith and Fulham, also in Brent. It offers advice, advocacy and guidance 365 days a year providing crisis intervention and a range of support for victims going through the court process.
