Paris Half Marathon 2013 · 3 March 2013 ·

We provide information, support and services to people with acquired brain injury, their families and carers. We run an Independence and Wellbeing Centre, Community Social & Activity Groups, Welfare Benefits & Counselling Services, and monthly Family and Friends group.

Story

On January 15th this year, Jacquie sustained a severe brain injury in an accident at home.  She needed emergency surgery and critical care for more than 3 weeks, but is now starting the long road to recovery and we hope a good outcome.  This tragic event will change the lives of husband Chris and children Simon, Anna, Olivia and Ella.

Chris and Anna had already planned to run the Paris half for charity and have now decided to support Headway's work with brain injury patients.  Anna has never been a runner but is young and fit.  Chris runs regularly but...well, the picture says it all.  They started training this week to ensure they can do it, but their main target is to raise some serious money.

Headway works closely with the neuro-rehabilitation team at Rookwood Hospital in Cardiff to provide support to head injury patients and their families.
