Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

My daughter Alicia suffers from Ataxia, she was 6 in May and was diagnosed with this at the age of 2, She is loved by all of her family so much she is our "little angel", all of us are praying and trying our hardest to raise as much money as we possibly can to help some how and some way in the future find a cure for Ataxia.

My Auntie Jacquie originally set up the raise money for Ataxia page by doing a sponsored slim, since doing this ideas have just grown in more ways than we anticipated, we have a regular chat and it has now become a true family affair.

with fundraising going on here there and everywhere Including:

Coffee and cake afternoon

A pamper evening

Annsummers Party

We are also holding a Garden Fete with a BBQ, stalls and a Bouncy Castle, This is being held at the Ashby Road Hut on the 18th September 12 - 4 pm.

Ongoing we are collecting at the Edward Herbert Building Loughborough University  which the staff and customers kindly give.

All the above events are being hold on a yearly basis - with hopefully more ideas along the way.

'Ataxia' means ‘absence of order’. People with ataxia have problems of co-ordination. This is because parts of the nervous system that normally control co-ordination and balance are affected.

Ataxia UK aims to support all people affected by ataxia; people with the condition, their familes, carers and friends. The charity funds research into developing safe, effective treatments with the ultimate goal of finding a cure for the ataxias. In the meantime Ataxia UK helps people to live with ataxia by providing a range of services that are not available anywhere else, including an advocacy service..

I have decided to do a sponsored diet to raise money for this cause and my aim is to lose 2st by August 2010!

Your support in this challenge will be very much appreciated!
