Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro · 28 January 2015

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates and funds three air ambulances and a fleet of critical care cars covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This lifesaving service costs £13-14 million each year and is funded by donations only.

Story

I've had  a bucket list for as long as I can remember, things get added on all the time and, not as often as I'd like, things get ticked off as I accomplish them! One of the items on my list it to climb Kilimanjaro, soon to become a reality in January 2015! 14 of us make up team RockBottomz, most of us from my workplace Capula.

We are each funding the trip ourselves meaning that any money we raise goes directly to Midlands Air Ambulance!

As part of my training and fundraising I have taken up boxing with which I will be competing in a fight...on my birthday (13th September)! Let's hope they don't damage me too much! I train 3/4 times a week in a professional boxing gym (Ten Count Boxing, Fenton) with sparring being a new addition to training. I'm loving training (not so much being punched in the face) and hope to carry the training on long after the fight to keep my fitness levels at their peak for Kili!

If you would like to support my crazy challenge of climbing the world's highest freestanding mountain or taking on boxing, please donate anything you can on this page :)

Every little helps! :)

Thank you!
