Story
Deprivation, child neglect and youth homelessness remain a massive problem around the UK. We often view the possibility of homelessness as distant and unlikely. But every year around 80,00 young people in the UK experience homelessness.
In a family under pressure, relationships can become fractured and breakdown. Arguments can escalate and those affected can feel they have no choice but to leave home. If that person is below the age of 21, then chances are they will have few places to turn.
Imagine if your life was a doorway, a backpack and your clothes sodden & dirty - how difficult it would be make misguided choices. Any dreams and ambitions forged in childhood quickly fade and are replaced by the crushing expectation and harsh reality of adulthood.
On 2 October thousands of people across the UK will sleep out , so vulnerable young people don’t have to. The money raised by Byte Night, the UK’s largest sleepout enables Action for Children to support services around the country. These services provide young people with the space, security and stability they need to get their lives back on track and are crucial to preventing youth homelessness.By donating to Byte Night, you can help those in danger of being forgotten, and give them the opportunity to build a better life for themselves. You can support my Vodafone sleep out team by donating on this page.
Vodafone will be match funding and we are aiming for more than 10k from the team.
