Story
Greetings you sassy badgers,
About a year and a half ago I ran a 6km Santa Dash in
Loughborough, this almost killed me.
Last December I decided to go one further and cycled to Copenhagen to attend
the Climate talks taking place there, this too nearly killed me.
This June I will be taking part in the FSI 10km run at Thornbridge Hall in
Derbyshire, raising money for the charity I now work for called Village Aid.
Doing very similar work to the likes of Christian Aid, Oxfam and Tearfund
(tackling the root causes of extreme international poverty) Village Aid is
small, focussed and dedicated. The partners we work with in Africa are
personally known to us and we have worked together for over 20 years. We only
support programmes in five West African countries, namely; The Gambia, Sierra
Leone, Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroon. Having visited Sierra Leone and Nigeria in
the past and also having an inside understanding of how Village Aid partners
operate within these countries I could not be more optimistic about where any
money I am able to raise will be going.
Please help me to raise this modest total and contribute what you can to what I am sure will be a much underestimated test of my flagging fitness levels.
Thanks, I like your face,
Jim
P.S. Photos will follow.
