The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

In August 2013, me and my good friend Matt Fotheringham will be running from the north coast of France, all the way to the south. Starting in Le Havre and finishing in Nice, we will be running a total distance of 634 miles (1020km). Our aim is to finish it within the month of August by running an average of about a marathon a day completely unsupported.

In the summer of 2011, my Uncle Farid was diagnosied with stomach cancer, ever since he has displayed an incredible amount of bravery in fighting against it. A successful surgeon and skin cancer specialist himself, he received a tremendous amount of support from the team surrounding him which has lead to him being far along the road to recovery. The pain that we will go through in this month will be nothing compared to what he has endured over the last year and a half. By running this distance for the recovery and bravery of my uncle I hope to raise a significant amount of money for a worthwhile charity.

I would be extremely grateful if you could please take a few moments of your time to donate to my chosen charity, whether small or generous, everything will help towards reaching and hopefully surpassing the £500 target I have set.

Addittionally please support my friend Matt by following the link below and donating generously to his personal chosen charity, another highly worthwhile cause.
