Kent Police Headquarters, Maidstone, Kent to Shepton Mallet, Somerset · 13 August 2012

The Ear Foundation helped fund the first cochlear implants for deaf children in the UK. We now support children, young people & adults who use a variety of modern hearing technologies. Offering independent advice & activites to bridge the gap between clinics where they're fitted and home where used.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Ear Foundation has had a life changing effect on a member of my family. My cousin Laura Talbot lost almost complete hearing in both ears when she was very young. Despite this traumatic and very unfortunate time, Laura has remained one hundred percent positive and her courage has been nothing but relentless. The Ear Foundation provided Laura with the opportunity to have a Cochlea Implant operation. This was absolutely life changing and has resulted in Laura regaining almost complete hearing. Therefore in honour of her courage and for all other people like Laura, I will be completing a sponsored bike ride this August. My mate Dave Taft and I will be cycling from Kent Police Headquarters to my home town of Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The distance will be approximately 175 miles and will be completed in one straight hit, hopefully 14 hours! I have previously raised almost £2000 through help from friends and family when completing the 2012 London Marathon. Any donations would be greatly appreciated-

So please dig deep and donate now!!
