Story
In June I'll be getting on my bike along with 140 other riders and cycling from London to Paris in under 24 hours. After my 2013 Geneva to Paris cycle for the DCT, I'm upping the ante. This is a far tougher challenge! http://duchennedash.com has all the details.
The charity has been busy over the last 12 months, funding 8 pioneering research projects that are fighting back against Duchenne in different, but targetted ways. Duchenne is the most common genetic killer of boys, and it's what my close friend's Nick and Emily's son Eli has been diagnosed with. Through this charity they set up, they are doing everything possible to influence policy makers and fund scientists to find a cure.
There is consensus that such a cure is genuinely within reach, but after a great first year of fundraising we desperately need to keep the momentum up. More details can be found at http://www.dc-trust.org
Well over a hundred of you kind friends and family sponsored me on last year's challenge. The problem is I haven't met over a hundred new friends and family since. So I'm back asking again... please give whatever you feel you can - every pound will spur me on and go towards finding a cure and ending Duchenne in Ten.
Many thanks,
James
