Story

Dear all,

I have now been in Uganda for 4 months now and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here! I have been spending 2 weeks in every 3 living in Kizigo village with Phillip and Fred (HYT trainers) helping to build the two 20,000 litre water tanks and kitchen with the other trainees. I have also been running the ISSB club at Kizigo which aims to teach some of the pupils about ISSB technology. During my time spent in the village I have seen the great work being done by HYT. I have also visited Kasokaso to monitor and evaluate the impact of HYT on the village and the report came back very positive! During the 1 week that I spend in Jinja I have been teaching maths at Lords Meade Vocational College, helping out at ASCO (an organisation for street kids) and Sonrise (a baby’s orphanage).

On June 18th I will be running 24km from Kizigo Village to the HYT HQ in Jinja. It should take around two and a half hours but it should be good fun as well as a challenge (it will be pretty hot and at quite high altitude)! Any donations that are made will be greatly appreciated however big or small and as little as £8 will buy a bag of cement which can build 120 ISSB bricks! Thanks for all of your support.

Love James x
