Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year three things happened, I got engaged in September, I took up running to get fitter and my Nan Cox died. I decided before Nan died that I wanted to aim to do a big run before my wedding, at the time I was running about 2km so 10km seemed a good target. Then Nan died and I thought I'd like to use it as a means of raising more money for the charity that we collected for at her funeral, the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
The run I am doing is the Run Richmond 10km on Saturday 3rd April. At the time I signed up I should have been able to run 10km in about 70 minutes. Well, 'should have been able' is slightly misleading, I hadn't run more than 4km, but I had plans. After a bit of training I'm up to 5.5km in 33 minutes, so the aim is to run the 10km in under about 60 minutes. If I run it in less than 55 minutes I will make an extra special donation.
I listen to music a lot when I run, and some times sing. I have an inclination that once I've finished this run I will want to sing 'More Than a Feeling'. Still, better than singing 'The Climb' I suppose.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. I've used them a few times, last time being my friend Marsha running the New York Marathon. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Once I've completed the run I'll contact you about my finishing time/song :)
