CYCLISTS FIGHTING CANCER enables children and young people living with cancer across the UK to regain their physical fitness and mental wellness by giving them new bikes, adapted trikes, tandems, other equipment and support. Physical activity is a key element in rehabilitation from treatments.

Story

2013 will see me taking on a number of sportives to raise money and awareness for the Cyclists Fighting Cancer charity.

Cyclists Fighting Cancer gives bikes, adapted trikes and tandems to children and young people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

"Something as simple as a bike makes a remarkable difference to their daily lives and brings back smiles"

I will be riding the Great Nottingham Cycle with a good friend of mine Matt Garrod.  Matt has kindly suggested we pull together to try and reach the target.  Massive thanks to Matt and all of you who donate for him!

One of my colleagues recently received bikes from the charity as her son recovers from cancer.  This along with another friends involvement with the charity has inspired me to spend a year raising funds for the charity!

The events equal a total of approximatly 700 miles!

Majorca Sportive (103miles including mountains)
Manchester > Liverpool > Manchester (106 miles)
Great Nottingham Cycle (100miles with )
Great Manchester Cycle (52 miles TBC)
Manchester > Blackpool > Manchester (114miles)
Manchester 100 (100 miles)
