I am attempting to climb Kilimanjaro with my girlfriend Katy in July of this year and am pleased to be doing this to raise money for Julia’s House.
I am lucky enough to have in my family a lovely baby called Samuel who is now 17 months. Samuel has a rare genetic condition which has affected the development and formation of his brain and his parents have recently been introduced to Julia’s House where they have been made very welcome and I know that visiting this wonderful place has made such a difference to all their lives.
Julia's House is Dorset's only hospice dedicated to children with life-limiting conditions. The aim of Julia's House is to maximise and enrich the quality of life for Dorset children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

The mountain itself is the tallest in Africa at 5,895m above sea level. I am currently training by running further and further each week and incorporating as many hills as possible, playing football and hiking as regularly as I can. The altitude is going to be a massive challenge and I am likely to have headaches and feel nauseated for the majority of the climb. The trek will take 8 days in total. I will be faced with climates at both the extreme ends of the spectrum: initially with extremely hot, muggy conditions and ending at the top of the mountain with snow and temperatures down to minus 20 celcius.
It's going to be a massive challenge so please support me in raising money for the hospice.
