Story
I am cycling from London to Paris with a team from Loughborough University on the 8th – 11th of July to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. Breast Cancer now is one of the biggest in the UK and helps support men and women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in the UK with around 50,000 women being diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
By donating money to Breast Cancer Now you will be helping fund research projects with the aim of curing the cancer and helping more women survive the cancer. Currently 80% of women are still alive after 5 years of being diagnosed but unfortunately 12,000 women still die of the disease each year.
All the research projects are aiming towards the 2050 goal where all women will survive the disease. These projects include finding a new way to stop the cancer from spreading around the body as it can’t be cured, only treated. This vital work will help thousands of women all around the UK and further to battle cancer and give women who are being diagnosed hope that they can beat the disease.
