Windsor Half Marathon · 25 September 2011
Hello!
On the 25th September I am running the Windsor Half Marathon along with Lee, Peter and Tristan to raise money for Diabetes UK in memory of my best friend, Richard Tyrrell. Richard tragically passed away in December 2010 at the age of 22. Always on the go, striving for success and encouraging others, Richard is sorely missed by his friends.
With your sponsorship, I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for Diabetes UK. Richard was diagnosed with Type I diabetes while at school. Rather than letting this hold him back, Richard continued to lead an active lifestyle - putting others to shame in the gym and on the rugby field, not to mention in tae kwon do and the dance floor...occasionally!
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition. Diabetes touches the lives of over two million people in the UK and any amount you might be willing to sponsor me to run the half marathon will help fund research into the causes of diabetes which may help prevent and, one day, cure the condition. Your sponsorship will also help provide services and support for people living with diabetes, their families and carers.
So, PLEASE dig deep and sponsor me to 'run', I'm currently training hard and your sponsorship will provide that extra motivation for me to get across the finish line!
Also, feel free to come to Windsor for a day out on the 25th September to watch/provide moral support/laugh, it would be great to see you there!
Thanks in advance for your generosity,
James x
