Story

MARATHON - DONE

Thank you to all that have sponsored (or are just about to sponsor!) me on this great journey.

The weekend was a truly humbling experience making 'you' realise just how lucky 'we' are, with so many runners supporting so many great charities for their own personal reasons.

I staggered a 4hr30min time (which it appears exceeded the expectations of many! - the doubters),  however i did suffer from the false impression that i may be able to run sub-4 hours whilst out on the course. This moment of delusion occurred at 12 miles (feeling rather fresh!) and lasted until approximately 17 miles (feeling absolutely knackered!), when i started to curse the heavy frame with the loss of feeling and control of the lower extremities bringing me swiftly back to reality - getting round then became top priority!

Not even the sight of Batman, Robin, several 6ft chickens or a giant bottle of London Pride flooding past could even muster more than a shuffle in the closing miles, but it has all been more than worth it and perhaps another year.... with some more training..... a few kilos lighter..... actually, give it another 17 years and Henry can flipping run it himself!

I think that with all of your support, the final amount raised for REACH will be in the region of about £2,500 - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR AMAZING SUPPORT.

James, Becs and Henry
