As I'm warming up towards celebrating my 'half century' I decided that I needed to set myself a challenge ! I am going to join my friends from the Blue Marine Foundation and cycle the first leg of their London-Monaco Cycle Ride, which will be from London to Folkestone (120km) on the Kent coast.

Having not been on a saddle since I was 18, you can imagine how my first training run in June went - it was not pretty !!! So this certainly is a challenge, but I am up for it, not only to raise funds for a great charity that I support, but also in the hope that I might actually be able to fit into that 'designer Rapha' cycling kit by the time we reach September 17th !!

I do appreciate that you must receive lots of charitable requests from time to time - I promise this will be the only one I will be asking for...unless next year I sign up for all the way to Monaco !!
