Climbing Ben Nevis! · 15 September 2018

Around since 1923, SAMH currently operates over 60 services in communities across Scotland. These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, sport and physical activity; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

Story

As 2018 is my year of constant, relentless, and unstoppable self-improvement, when the opportunity came to climb Ben Nevis with some people from work I jumped at the chance. Add in raising money for SAMH (Scottish Association of Mental Health) and it's a win-win.

As some of you reading this will know, last year I took some time off to deal with some anxiety related issues, and this comes a year (and a day) to my first day of sickness. So what better metaphor for the struggle than climbing the UK's tallest mountain?

Please dig deep because (a) it's a great cause and (b) there's some friendly rivalry between us all as to who can raise the most, so please give what you can, any amount big or small will be much appreciated.

Also, any tips on how to not collapse halfway up will be most helpful!
