Thank you so much for coming to my JustGiving page for the DUQC 24 Hour Basketball Match in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust! If you would like anymore reason to donate other than the cause itself, here's some background on the event in the form of a theatrical and gripping medieval narrative I've written instead of revising for my exams: 

BUT FIRST some real talk: 
Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) is a frankly stunning charity that helps care and support young people (aged 13-24) with cancer, and their families. You don't have to look hard to see the truly devastating impact that cancer inflicts on the person, the family and the society and chances are you'll have known someone with it. Good health is a miracle in itself, and cancer needs no introduction, but to suffer it at an age you or I, or your sibling or best friend, are at, is a whole other undefined world that would terrify anyone; enduring 24 hours of basketball is NOTHING compared to the impact on the life journey that that person would experience. We are truly lucky... 

In a far and distant land, where noble young fellows do reside and overly enthused do-gooders do good, a callous foe rages on. A menacing enemy, ravaging all that is great, peaceful and righteous in the land, called Cancer. 

The barbarism of cancer is an unleashed fury falling on all the unfortunate men, women and children who slip into its path. Not even the strength of the young fellows is enough to combat it. But HARK, a hero exists; a hero they call Sir TCT. 

TCT, the saviour of the damned youth, wields its sword of volunteers, its shield of fundraisers and its heart of gold in chivalry. It has called upon the might of us, the warriors of DUQC, to its defence in a charity fundraiser match with enough valour to resurrect the Grand Wizard Kobe himself. 

Inspired by last year's DUQC knights, in their 24 Hour Football Match, this year's stakes are greater than ever and the consequences of failure, even more dire. We seek to raise £5000 collectively to aid the fearless protector Sir TCT in their quest to beat the evil scourge Cancer. 

We ask you humble people for your selfless contribution, in the form of donation and gift aid, to our quest, however big, however small. With you and us together, for the good of the land, let us stand in our quest, so that one day, we may defeat cancer...
