Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

No, the title isn't a typo.

Friends, Family, and Mysterious Benefactors.

Some of you may be aware that I’m taking part in a work “Relay Challenge” to get from John O'Groats to the doors of the Agency, using legs, paddles, arms, bikes, and horses among other things to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.

Specifically, I'm involved in the walking leg on 9 September - 40km across some of Scotland's most treacherous, midge-infested terrain (well, Dumfries to Gretna Green). If that's not enough, I have to do it with colleagues who are infinitely better prepared than me. And just to add to the 'fun', if we don't complete it in our target time, we miss our train home that evening. Lovely.

I know you'll be asked for money for more outlandish feats of endurance, but given that I’m not the most accomplished of hikers, think of this as funding my humiliation. As an added incentive, the person who donates the most will be able to select a novelty clothing item for me to wear for the duration of the walk, with pictorial evidence provided. Any money you can spare will be greatly appreciated - Importantly, AMV will be matching any donations, so anything you give will effectively be doubled.

Thanks in advance.
