James' Alaskan challange · 30 June 2012

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

This September I'm treking through the Talkeetna mountain range in Alaska's interior an area that has been described by Steve Howe of Backpacker magazine as a blend of saw toothed pinnacles, milky creeks and rock hard glaciers, spiced with strong overtones of remoteness and solitude.

Along with my 19 other fellow adventurers I will be spending 6-8 hours a day treking offtrail with full packs across a variety of wilderness terrain.
