Hi All,

As some of you will know I helped Mikey get started on his OBY by doing Tough Guy, Hell Runner, and the Open Adventure Five with him. I thought that was it and I could put my feet up but the other day the Batphone chimed out, on the other end was what I thought was a young girl crying, turned out to be Mike. After little persuasion I agreed to do some of his final event with him, on the 8-9 December Michael and I will be taking to the canals of England and kayaking from Birmingham to London, over 130 miles of what is commonly known as 'freezing my arse off'.

This is all in aid of supporting Mike Needham’s One Big Year (https://www.justgiving.com/onebigyear) and all money raised will be going towards his total of £30,000 for the Meningitis Research Fund.

When Mike was 18 months old, he was diagnosed with Meningitis. After trips to four seperate doctors with flu-like symptoms he was eventually submitted into hospital. Luckily the disease was caught in time but he still suffered total deafness in his right ear and profound deafness in his left. We are therefore raising this money to raise the awareness of Meningitis, and support the research that is being carried out to provide a vaccine for its various strains.

Although my challenge is but a fraction of what Mike is undertaking any support you could give would be greatly appreciated.
