Paris Marathon 2013 · 7 April 2013 ·

Open Arms Malawi is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in Malawi, so they can achieve their potential within the love and security of a home. We work closely with families and communities to raise healthy children and support them into self-sufficiency.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit this Just Giving page.  All money raised will make a significant contribution to lives of Boniface, Isaac, Julita, Joe, Mwai and Ruth.  These are just six of the children who have been given a second chance of healhty life by Open Arm's.  They live in Annie's House under the watchful eye of House mother Chrissy and her son Chiku.

It costs about £8000 a year to run Annie's House.  This includes the food, clothes and education of all of the children.  For more information about these fantastic kids please visit the Open Arm's website at http://www.openarmsmalawi.org/what-we-do/phase-3/annies-house/ and please consider making a donation via this Just Giving page.

To raise money I have entered the Paris Marathon which I will run on 7th April 2013.  I will be updating my facebook page with details of my training runs as I have always had an ambition to run a marathon in under 3 hours.  I am already getting stuck into the training and have committed to (very) clean living from 1st January to try to achieve this personal goal.  I am also trying to raise a minimum of £2000 to make a small contribution to people far less priviledged than myself.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and if you are able to make a small donation it would be just fantastic.  Not only will it motivate me to run like Forrest Gump for the next few months, but it will also help improve the lives of six wonderful children!  Thank you!!!
