So this is where I convince you to part with your hard earned cash for those 'less fortunate', right?

So I leave work after a hard 8 hour day having had a lovely Marks & Spencers lunch and trot off across London to the gym...  I change into my matching Adidas gym kit and trainers, recently updated iPod in ears and away to the treadmill I go to pound out my 5k warm up before moving onto my weights.  All worked out, sweaty and spent I meander through the gleaming equipment to the glass cubicled power showers and cleanse myself feeling fit, nourished and healthy.

Meanwhile in India...  same person my age gets up at 4am, travels 5km to a field where he works manual labour for 16 hours solid with day old plain rice for lunch in the baking heat.  He is wearing an outfit that has come from his older brothers, his body is emaciated from hunger, thirst, heat and exertion.  He works to the rythmic sounds of his comrades grunts of pain and dejection...  all of this with the chime of his families needs hitting a crescendo at his lowest ebb of energy - pressing him ever forward...

This boy is 28 years old and is on the precipice of death - I am 28 years old and am expected to live to the luxurious age of 80!

It's true that money does not bring happiness...  money does open doors and create choices and the freedom to make a choice is the best kind of happiness
