I'm running the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon on October 11 2009 in aid of the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). NRAS supports people with Rheumatoid Arthritis, their families and carers. Rheumatoid Arthritis is a devastating auto immune condition, that attacks the joints causing inflammation and extreme pain. It can affect anybody at any time in their life for no reason at all and there is no cure.

Many of you know my sister-in-law, Alice, who was diagnosed at 18, cutting short an extraordinarily promising tennis career. Overnight, Alice's life changed drastically and she, and her family, has suffered more pain and heartache than anyone should ever experience in any lifetime. Alice is an inspiration to me and many others for her strength, determination and incredible spirit and I am extremely proud to be representing her in this race.
