29/05/2011/ update:-

Today I completed my first Triathlon at a very windy Woodhall Spa in a great time of 1hr 26mins and 10 seconds .

I beat my target of 1hr 30 mins in very hard conditions so I am very pleased.

Just to say a massive thanks to everyone who gave so generously .

All,

It started off as a bet in the pub and as I am the wrong side of thirty (five). I have set myself a personal goal to get myself fit this year! (Fish and chips aside)

I am taking part in my first ever Triathlon on Sunday 29 May. This is at Woodhall Spa “Lincolnshire”.

The event consists of a 400m swim (outdoor pool) 24Km bike and finishing with a 5Km Run.

I am aiming to complete the event in 1hr 30 mins or as close as possible.

Just in case it sounds too easy, I am also camping there with my wife and two kids in a £99 all in one tent from Halfords.

If anyone is interested in joining the event or coming down and cheering me on, see link below

PS: - .There are still places available.

Whilst undertaking this challenge, I am hoping to raise money for the St Andrews Hospice in Grimsby.

For those who don’t know, St Andrews Hospice provide holistic care for adults and children from North East Lincolnshire and the surrounding area, who have a progressive life limiting illness and who require palliative treatment.

Their main aim is improve the patient’s quality of life by providing specialist medical and nursing care in a safe and welcoming environment. They also offer help and support to our patient’s families and carers.
St. Andrew’s Hospice offers care regardless of race, creed or ability to pay.etc.. They offer their services at no charge, relying mainly on the generosity and kindness of charity donations to provide a real home from home for their patients and their families.
