Paris Marathon 2014 · 6 April 2014 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In March 2013 my dad passed away after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. My family will never get over this, but by aiming to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer, hopefully it will help out others diagnosed with this Cancer in the future.

Pancreatic Cancer has the lowest survival rate of any Cancer, 40 years ago breast cancer had a 43% 5 year survival rate, today it is 85%, 40 years ago pancreatic cancer had a 5 year survival rate of 3%, today it is still 3%.

My main aim for running the Paris Marathon on April 6th and creating this page is to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, but if you can give any amount of money towards the charity it will be hugely appreciated. Pancreatic cancer is the 5th deadliest cancer yet only receives 1% of research funds.

Last year I also ran this marathon and it was tougher than I could have imagined. My time was 5 hours and 1 minute, which I was extremely dissapointed with and aim to do a lot better this year. Everyone who sponsored me last time was amazing helping me to raise over £2000.

This year there will be 8 of us running as a team, 5 great friends and two of my brothers, so hopefully we can raise even more money.
