The RAID FORTY-EIGHT · 26 June 2015

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

I normally wouldn't do this, that is, do a bike ride for charity.... the main reason being that I can't imagine many people seeing a 'bike ride' challenging me enough - I enjoy it too much........right???

Why you should donate: 560 (approx.) miles fully supported but with the express aim of setting a Record for London to Paris and back  (the long route!) - no stops other than to eat, change, take on caffeine, then crack on!

The six of us depart Greenwich Observatory on Friday 26th June 2015, and hope to arrive back in Trafalgar Square within 48hrs - simple really.

ALL Donations go direct to Crohn's & Colitis UK - All my costs for the trip are taken care of - this is not holiday, nor will you be paying for me to ride my bike!

I am an Ulcerative Colitis sufferer myself - I honestly believe that cycling, and the culture that comes with it has helped me keep this debilitating condition at bay - If I can raise money to support those less mobile than me, or to inspire others to take up this great sport as a means of recovery, physical and mental health, fitness and well-being, then fantastic!

We'd love your personal support as well - why don't you ride some of the event with us?  Ride the outward leg to Dover with us, or join our final return into London.  We'll lay on a special brunch for anyone willing to greet our arrival in Trafalgar Square, or even join us on the last few miles.  Check out the website, and contact The Raid if you want to know the route.
