The Joshua Tree provides emotional, wellbeing, and practical support to families affected by childhood cancers. We help children, young people, and their families cope with the life-changing impact of cancer, empowering them to thrive during treatment and beyond. We are a non-profit charity

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to be riding the coast to coast route from Whitehaven to over 3 days from 21st May to 23rd May The total distance is about 140 miles with a mix of road and off road riding.

I will be raising money for a local charity called The Joshua Tree, a charity that aims to build a holiday house and support centre for families who have a child with a life threatening illness, where the treatment makes social interaction with the general public difficult because of the risk of infection. Further details can be found on their website www.thejoshuatree.org.uk .

I will be doing the ride with my dad, Andrew, and his friends Russ Carter and Colin Winter.

We start from Whitehaven on the Friday riding through the to Penrith via the Whinlatter pass.

On Saturday we climb from Penrith up into the to Allenheads. There are climbs up Hartside, out of Garrigill and Black Hill. This will be a tough day over very hilly terrain.

On Sunday, we pedal (downhill?) from Allenheads to where we dip our wheels in the sea. Then back to school on the Monday!
