sorry for the delay in updating you all, internet problems in Greenland. finished in under 5 hours, incredibly tough but an amazing experience. many thanks to all who donated, the extra miles when training certainly helped during the race. will put some photos up when back in the UK.

eeeeeeeek, this time next month I will be considerably colder. my training schedule is going the same way as my exam revision at school. leaving it all till the last minute. That got me all the way to Humberside Uni, hopefully this one will serve me a bit better!

Yes, you read correctly I am running the Polar Marathon! To "celebrate" the start of my 40th year I have decided to don my thermal long johns, venture North and run a marathon on the polar icecap. If that alone isnt enough to make you dig deep and give generously then I am running this marathon in memory of my dad who passed away a few years ago.

He was taken from us far too early after being diagnosed with Lewy Body Syndrome which is a condition similar to Parkinsons disease which meant the last few years of his life were very tough. As is it is a rare form of Parkinsons not as much is known about it but the effects on the individual are much worse and to see someone that you love have their personality drained from them is heart breaking. The effect that this has one family and friends is cruel enough without thinking of what my father had to go through. He tackled it as he did everything in life with dignity and good humour. It would be good to raise a decent amount of money to help combat this disease and work towards easing the suffering that it causes..

I will let you all know how I get on.
