Marathon Des Sables · 7 April 2013

Imagine losing the ability to move and feel for the rest of your natural life. That is the reality faced by millions of individuals worldwide who have fallen victim to a paralysing spinal cord injury. Walkoncemore funds cutting-edge research into a cure for this traumatic and debilitating condition.

Story

This Year I have been lucky to secure a place in the Marathon des Sables - rated as one of the toughest foot races on the planet. The fact that I can even contemplate taking part in this challenge makes me luckier than the 2.5 million people world wide that have sustained a Spinal cord injury (SCI), and can't walk at all.

Each year an estimated150,000 people sustain an SCI. This impacts not just on the victim, but their family, friends, and colleagues. And it can happen to anyone. Walk Once more is helping to fund research into curing SCIs.

So all that I ask is that you donate whatever spare money you have, be it 50 pence, a pound, 10 pounds, and help us to find a way to get Spinal cord injury victims walking once more.
