CLIC24 2006 · 13 May 2006 ·

Each day in the UK five families are told their child has cancer or leukaemia. From that moment on their lives will never be the same again. Most children will survive, some will die, but the scars on every family will remain. CLIC's role is to try and help these children and their families cope and keep life as normal as possible. It offers an all-embracing approach including practical hands-on care, clinical services, financial and emotional support. CLIC has joined together with Sargent Cancer Care for Children to become the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.

Story

I know there's been a lot of charity requests recently but this one is the most important, trust me.  I am part of a 4 man team riding in a 24 hour mountain bike race in the Mendips on May 13/14.  The event is organised to support CLIC, the charity that support cancer and leukaemia in children.

This is our second year and here are the highlight's of last year....

- covering 250.5 miles - the distance from London to Whitley Bay apparently http://www.whitleybayonline.com

- climbing, and also descending of course, a total of 25,500 feet - 50 feet short of the 22nd highest mountain in the world - Rakaposhi, in Pakistan

- helping Team BOG (Bristol Old Gits) raise £2099, with my own generous sponsors contributing £949

- and only losing 18% of one of my front teeth (within the first 10 minutes)

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

Cheers,  James
